Short Runs Without Compromise
The vast majority of pressing plants require a minimum of 100 units. We are working with a boutique plant that starts with runs of 50. This is significant for labels and artists who want the quality and longevity of pressed vinyl without committing to quantities that don’t suit their release.
The plant is run by My Shank — a French company operating at the highest level within the disc mastering and lathe-cutting industry. Their styli are used by Bernie Grundman. Their HeLiX23 cutter head is trusted by SST in Berlin. In 2024 we became the sole UK distributor of My Shank products, and our existing relationship with them gives us unique access to this new service that no else in the UK has.
We act as the broker. This means that the full process — from the master you supply to the record you receive — is managed by people who have been mastering audio and cutting vinyl for over two decades. We know what a pressing plant needs. We know what a good record sounds like. We act as your advocate inside the plant — ensuring your record receives the attention it deserves.
The Plant
Record Zone, My Shank’s pressing plant, is a boutique operation: a small team in control of the full manufacturing process, all on site. Lacquers are cut on a VMS80 with a HeLiX23 cutter head. Half-speed mastering is available, so too is 180g and various colour + splatter variants. The plant runs on renewable energy.
This is not a large commercial plant running hundreds of orders simultaneously. It is a facility that prioritises sound quality. From lacquer cutting to pressing and finishing, the plant maintains control of every stage.
What We Handle
As your broker, we manage the project from our end — liaising with the plant, preparing and checking your audio, overseeing quality, and keeping you informed throughout. If you also need mastering, we offer that too, and the combination gives us full oversight from the earliest stage through to the finished pressing.
As a dedicated broker with established relationships with the plant, we provide priority scheduling access, direct communication with production, test pressing management, and oversight of the project from mastering to delivery. We are the technical bridge between you and the pressing plant.
We can get your 50 x 12” white labels to you with a lead time as short as 7 working days.
